Four farmers were killed and several injured in a police firing while demanding more water for irrigation in Sriganganagar district in Rajasthan on October 27, 2004. The Indira Gandhi Nahar Project transformed the district from a desert into a green area in 1970s. but the farmers complain about decreased water supply in the past five years.
