Four farmers were killed and several injured in a police firing while demanding more water for irrigation in sriganganagar district in rajasthan on october 27, 2004. The indira gandhi nahar project transformed the district from a desert into a green area in 1970s. but the farmers complain about decreased water supply in the past five years.
