CSE directorSsunita Narain addressing the meeting of eminent persons with villagers at the Johad in July 2001. This group was formed by CSE to force the Rajasthan government withdraw its stand of demolishing the structure. This 220 - metre long and 15-metre high Johad (earthen dam) has been built by the villagers of Lava Ka Baas with technical assistance from the Tarun Bharat Sangh in a record time of four months. This johad is built on one of the many small nalas feeding the river Ruparel.
