The arid Ladakh region depends on glaciers melt for it’s water supply. Water is available mainly late in the evening in the streams, and the flow of the streams is much greater late in the summer season. The people of Ladakh have built a system of water reservoirs to meet their water needs . Glaciers melt slowly through the day and fill the streams mainly in late evening. Picture show same stream in morning.
